Segmentation and Channel Expansion



To support the proposed expansion of food categories within a large mass merchandiser, a large manufacturer and their retail partner commissioned a joint LearningConnect to better understand current challenges and opportunities within various consumer segments and retail formats.


A Team StartUp to share all relevant data followed by LearningConnect immersive workshops, in-store shop-a-longs and in-home conversations (post shopping) with key consumer segments. After completing the Data Collection, the team gathered to synthesize the collected data to unearth critical insights necessary to create compelling marketing programs that would resonate with the targeted segments.


Based on the learning and insights, the team discovered critical ‘must haves’ needed to win in selected areas, along with compelling shopping insights that drove incremental sales and higher category penetration rates.
